Veggie Tales – The Little House That Stood *Free Coloring Pages and a Giveaway!*

Our family LOVES Veggie Tales. In fact, when Bee was 3 years old she was such a huge fan that we had a Veggie Tales theme birthday party for her.

I made these cakes with a Pyrex bowl and 2 bread loaf pans.

This Bob the Tomato pinata was a team effort for my husband and me. It was made with a punch ball balloon, covered in paper mache', and spray-painted red.

Look how little she is! *sniff*

Bee was so obsessed with the Veggies that one morning, while on the road for an appraisal, my husband stopped by a roadside vegetable stand and bought her some squash, so she could have Jimmy and Jerry Squash to go along with her plush Veggie characters. She carted those squash around until they were rotten. We had to sneak them out to the compost bin.

What I’ve always loved about Veggie Tales is that the humor is not just for children, but for parents too! My personal favorite, if you haven’t seen it, is Madame Blueberry – A Lesson in Thankfulness.

Not only is it an important lesson for kids (and adults!) to learn, but the songs are incredibly catchy. To this day, whenever we walk into a store like Costco, my husband and I always sing, “Stuff Mart, Stuff Mart…”

I’m happy to announce that Big Idea has a new Veggie Tales DVD release called The Little House That Stood.

When the Three Little Pigs roll into Cabbageville looking to build some new houses, they meet one builder with a plan and two without a clue! Larry builds with hay, Mr. Lunt with bricks, but only Bob builds his houses on a firm foundation – following the wise plans from the Master Builder’s Handbook! Will the Little Piggies make the right choices when it comes to building their houses – and their lives – on solid ground? Find out in this parable that shows kids when they follow God’s blueprints, they can stand strong when the storms come!

PLUS! Ever wonder what happened before Humpty cracked? Find out in this very Veggie retelling of the classic Humpty Dumpty story “The Good Egg of Gooseville” where we learn that a good neighbor always “lends a little hand” to those in need!

I received a review copy of this DVD, and my kids all loved it! They’ve watched it several times, and I laughed out loud at some of the jokes (watch for the reference to Groupon).

Through my affiliation with Grace Hill Media, I’m excited to offer another great giveaway of The Little House That Stood, for one lucky reader. To enter, just leave a comment on this post. Contest ends Sunday, March 10th, at noon. Also, I have some great Veggie Tales coloring pages for you, courtesy of Big Idea (click the image to print).

Have fun, and be sure to enter to win!

Please note – I received a complimentary review copy of Veggie Tales – The Little House That Stood, but I was not compensated in any way for the promotion of this product. The giveaway, and shipping to the winner, will be provided by Grace Hill Media.

I have to say, the Madame Blueberry episode kicked my butt. It was a time when I was focusing too much on what I didn’t have. So needless to say, the first time I saw it was like a slap to the face (of which I was thankful for). Now, “theres a new Madame Blueberry in town”… ok well, you get the point.
My kids make me sing the intro all the time and my husband is obsessed with the Cheeseburger song… So yea, Veggie Tales all the way!!
