My Blueberry Drop Cookie Recipe

Since I posted about this last week, many readers have asked for the recipe. And understandably so – this cookie is one of my top 5 favorites of all time (along with white chocolate macademia nut, traditional chocolate chip, chocolate peanut butter no bakes, and chewy oatmeal raisin…mmmmmmm). Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened (I use Smart Balance sticks in this recipe with great results).
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 cup white sugar
1 cup fresh (or frozen & thawed) blueberries. (I much prefer fresh, though).

DIRECTIONS
1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugar, egg, and milk. Mix well after the addition of each ingredient. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; blend into the sugar mixture. Fold in the blueberries. Cover and chill for 4 hours (I actually skip this step most of the time, and they still turn out great).
2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets, about 1 1/2 inches apart.
3. Bake 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Makes about 3 dozen.

Thank you for posting this — they sound delicious!  My son loves blueberries so I’m going to try to convert these to gluten-free, casein-free for him.  If it works, it will be a sweet, healthy treat that he will love!

I have had a bag of freeze dried blueberries that my hubby deemed too sour for him to eat plain so when I read this recipe I thought “great, a chance to use them!” They are cooling on my counter as we speak and I’ve already eaten three (had to round out the dozen ;) ). I know my hubby will love them. Thanks for sharing your recipe! :)

These were so good! I added a dash of nutmeg, a couple dashes of cinnamon and a 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Love this recipe!

Made these tonight, so yummy! I had to hide the cookie jar from my toddler after her third cookie, she kept demanding more! :)

These would have been better had I not burned the bottom, but that’s not the recipe’s fault :p. Delicious!
